Knute Larson is a church consultant for the GLD of the Evangelical Free Church of America, an associate Bible teacher for RBC Ministries, and adjunct faculty for Moody Bible Institute, Trinity International University, and Grand Rapids Seminary.

He loves the church, and just finished a “wonderful privilege and experience” as pastor of The Chapel, Akron, Ohio, for over 25 years (1983-2009).

Now he hopes to teach and coach young pastors to point to the same Lord of grace, to model expository preaching, and to influence the community and city.

In the quarter century at The Chapel, the church guided over 40% of its offerings “outside the walls” of the building, grew to over 8,000 in attendance each Sunday, started three new Chapels in nearby towns, and built a second campus to become “one church in two locations.”

Mission became the church’s middle name with local and global involvement.  The Chapel’s Adult Bible Fellowship approach is now used in over 4,000 churches.

Akron’s mayor called Knute “minister for the city” because of his influence with TV and radio spots and leadership in city needs and with racial reconciliation.

Knute and his wife, Jeanine, have been married since 1962 and have two married daughters and three grandchildren.

His fifth and newest book, published in May, is titled You Decide:  Five Beliefs That Change My Life.  He has also written The Great Human Race, The ABF Book, and two commentaries for Holman.

Knute studied at Grace College and Seminary, and earned the D. Min. from Trinity.
